UNITRON Stereo Microscopes -- Choose by Stand

Choosing the right stereo microscope for your application is just part of the solution.  The stand and illumination are also very critical factors to consider when purchasing your new stereo microscope.  Here are some questions to help you find the right stereo microscope stand.

Do you need light from below or above your sample, or both?

If you want or need light from above, does it need to be integrated into the stand, or can or should it be delivered by a separate light source?

Does your sample fit easily on a stage, or will you need to extend the microscope over the specimen?

So that you can find the best match for your application, UNITRON offers a wide variety of stands with different capabilities.  For your convenience, we have paired each of these with our stereo microscope series to create a single solution.

Boom and Ball Bearing Boom stands are some of the most versatile mounting options for stereo microscopes.  They offer an adjustable reach to help in observing larger samples.  The ball bearing boom stand is much more convenient where the arm (boom) must be extended or retracted more frequently.

Table stands offer a small footprint that fits on a lab bench and include Plain Focus, Pole, LED and LED Coarse/Fine Focus varieties.  Plain focus and pole stands do not come with any illumination.  All of our LED stands have both incident light (integrated in the focus mount) and transmitted light (up from the base).

Articulating Arms or "flex arm" stands provide maximum flexibility by allowing the user to rapidly adjust both height and reach.

Diascopic stands are specially designed not only to deliver light from the base, but also to change the angle of the light, thereby creating contrast in the sample.  These stands are commonly used in many life science applications involving model organisms, oocytes, stem cells, organioids and spheroids, and are also used in observing fibers, hair, crystals, minerals and some translucent industrial samples.

Gemological stands are designed to deliver the ideal illumination necessary for grading gemstones and for fabricating jewelry.
